Irving Amateur Radio Club is having a HamFest on Saturday, March 8th. I'm going to probably be doing storm spotter training that weekend, but there have been several people interested in ham radio that might be interested.

Who: Anyone interested in Amateur Radio
Where: Betcha Bingo Hall, 2420 W.Irving Blvd. #125, Irving, TX 75061 (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=2420+W+Irving+Blvd,+Irving,+TX+75061,+USA&ie=UTF8&ll=32.835354,-96.976748&spn=0.009375,0.033817&t=h&z=15&iwloc=addr)
What time: 8am-2pm
How much: $3 in advance/$4 at the door

Don't know if any manufacturers will have booths, but it would be a good opportunity for newbies to check stuff out.

I'll be attending the storm training, not leading it. For now, I'll say look out the window! :tt2:

If you are really interested here is the schedule: http://www.srh.noaa.gov/fwd/sptrsch.html

I agree 1000% Steve. Unfortunately I mentioned my interest in storm chasing to my wife and she said (in no uncertain terms) "Not going to happen."

Guess I'll have to be more convincing that it's ... safe. :dots:
