Mountain Bike Ride...Saturday 7am!!!

This will be my first ride with Clippless peddles so bring a camera :pop:, and possibly a stretcher to carry me out...:eek:

I put "Erwin Park" in my GPS and it found it. For those not so lucky, the info is below.

Nearest City: McKinney (http://www.dorba.org/trails/maps/ermap.html)

Directions: Take US75 to McKinney. Take exit 41 (Highway 380). Go west on 380 for about 2.5 miles. Turn right onto State Road 1461 (Lake Forest). Turn right onto CR-162 (this is a sign for Erwin Park). CR-162 is very short. Turn right onto CR164. Proceed .9 miles to CR-1006. Turn left onto CR-1006. Erwin Park entrance is down this road on your right. Enter the park. When the road splits, turn left. Pass the first parking area on your right. Park on the pavement near the pecan grove/pavillion. The trail head is down the road on your right. The kiosk mark the trail head.

Type: Single Track - loop

Distance: 8.1 miles

Land Manager: City of McKinney PARD

Hours: 8AM - 10PM

Conflicting reports on dorkba; some say it is muddy. The official site says it opens at 8:00am, but they used to open the gates a little early in the summer, especially on weekends. I'll check the weather report in the morning, and if they don't get any rain overnight it will probably be good. I suggest meeting at about 7:30 with ride time starting at 8:00. If they do get rain, anyone want to try Grapevine (Northshore)? Meet at the Madd Shelter (Lil' Pete's) trail head? This is the middle of the trail. We can head towards the dam for the easier part, or other way for the hard part, or do all 19 miles. If you don't know where this trail head is we can meet at the NW corner of FM 2499 & FM 3040 (Flower Mound Rd), and I can lead us there. You can call my cell 972 998 9209

So I totally woke up late. My friend called me at 4am because of marriage issues and kept me up till 6. Don't know if anyone is still out there. I think I am just going to head over to rowlett creek for a little bit. If anyone else wants to go out there call me, 469-831-8225.

Took my bike in Saturday to Sun and Ski for a tune-up.

I am going to try the trails over off Centerville and 190 next weekend. I will be on the green trails with the beginners group.

I had a blast. It has been some time since I have ridden, and it showed. In the video it looks like that person in front of you stopped, which caused you to stop and fall.
