- February 2011 JOTM Winner The Better Half!
This picture is at the top of Big Beav at Bridgeport in the park’s early days, when Big Beav was doable with 35”s. Dave busted an axle u-joint in the process, and as always the great LSJC members immediately step in to help fix it and get us back on the trail. Members helping included Jim (Mudman), Tim (Slim), along with Steve and others I am sure I am forgetting. Credit to the photographer, Steve Sprayberry. Without the photo we would not have any proof of the climb and this award. The Jeep is a ’97 TJ, with a 4”lift Pro-Comp suspension lift and 1” body lift, high clearance t.c. skid, running 35” Xterrain tires. Front axles is a D44 out of a Rubicon with selectable lockers and rear axle is an 8.8 with Detroit Locker. To keep with the Just Empty Every Pocket (J.E.E.P.) motto, there have been additional up-grades since this picture was taken, and fully anticipate additional mods throughout the foreseeable future.

- November 2010 JOTM Winner Slag!!
This picture was taken on Yankee Boy Basin in Ouray, CO on September 2rd, 2010. Days before we had left the 100 degree Texas heat. It was almost surreal shivering and playing in the snow while everyone at home was roasting in the oppressive Texas summer! The Jeep is a 2008 JK Rubicon Unlimited. Upgrades include RE 3″ lift, 5.38’s, Smittybilt front bumper and 8k winch, Trek Top, and 35″ Nitto Mud Grappler tires, Yaesu Ham and a Cobra CB. A very basic build that works extraordinarily well.
- October 2010 JOTM Winner frac man!!!
The birth of Cattywhompus: During a Bridgeport run in July I was lucky enough to gain a new perspective of the world … hanging upside down in a jeep. Fortunately both my passenger and I unbuckled and escaped unscathed. Then with a lot of help from several folks including 2 LSJC members (thanks Godwin and Steve!!) we winched my jeep back up on all four, cleaned up what remained of my windshield and frame, and I scraped my pride off the trail. At that point everyone assumed that we’d head back to the trailhead, hitch up to the tow vehicles and call it a day. However, after the engine started right up and the steering tracked true (well – it handled as sloppily as it did before the roll at least), I decided that I couldn’t do too much more damage if I continued wheeling the “cattywhompus” jeep for a few more hours. This shot was taken at the end of the day as we gave Cattywhompus a redneck carwash… and without a windshield my passenger and I got to freshen up as well!
- September 2010 JOTM Winner mprice!!
This Jeep is an ’07 JK Rubicon unlimited that is completely stock, it’s my wife’s daily driver. We took it with us to Ouray at the end of July this year. The picture was taken at the top of the trail to Yankee Boy Basin on August 1st. I just turned around and saw the Jeep and thought that it would make a great picture. I convinced my wife to give Jeeping a try about 5 years ago. She loves it now and is quickly learning how to drive off road. This makes it easier to spend money on the Jeeps.

- July 2010 JOTM Winner UP4ROX!!
The photo was taken this winter during one of the many snow storms we got. The photo has been photoshopped a little. All the color but red was taken out with a slight darking of the outside edges of the photo. Foot prints and a sewer cap were also removed. The photo was shot with a little point and shoot camera. The Jeep is an 04 Rubicon with 3″ suspension lift combined with a 2″ body lift. It is your basic LSJC TJ package. Sheryl and I have been to Moab twice, Colorado once, and a couple times to Hot Springs with the club along with the local legal places.

It is an 83 CJ7, 258 six cyl., TF999 Auto, AMC 20and Dana 30, 4:10 gears, Detroit locked, 33in MTRs, Warn 8274 winch, 6 point cage, and twin sticked. This picture was taken in Northwest Colorado last November on an Elk Hunt. We were at about 8500 feet, on the first two days it was 55 during the day and sunny, woke up the third morning to about two feet of snow and -5 degree temps. It was the coldest I had ever seen it while hunting. The snow was so deep it was hard to see the road in places, the Jeep did great, we did have to winch a couple of times, had a great time.
